RPR confirmed for the Nürburgring 24hr in HH

HH? Hungry Hornet! RPR-Racing's V3 class Renault Clio.

The provisional starter list for the 2014 Nürburgring 24hr has now been published and RPR is entering the Hungry Hornet in V3 with 12 other cars, although HH is the only Clio in V3.

The driver line up will be Carsten Ohlinger, Einar Thorsen, Danny Brink and Meyrick Cox, who between them have competed in over 40 Nürburgring 24hr races.

The team successfully qualified Danny, for whom this will be his first N24hr race, on 5th/6th April. The HH had a pretty tough time that weekend, competing not only in all the N24hr qualifying race sessions, but also starting off Ole Petersen’s racing career with a podium in his first ever race; so RPR has treated HH to a full rebuild so that she is fresh and ready to go. New, ultra bright LED spot lights are being fitted, so that everyone will see us coming; and we can see where we are going, at night.

Competition in the V3 class is going to be fierce, with no less than 8 Toyobaru GT-BRZ-86s, an Opel Astra (hopefully not like Einstein…) and the factory Mazda, whose tea and coffee budget alone probably exceeds our entire budget. Sadly they are in a different box, so we will have to make our own tea & coffee. Maybe the Mazda even stopped leaking fuel now?

We will be in Box 25, sharing with two of the SP7 Porsches from the legendary Manthey team; the SP7 Porsche from our good friends Krumbach; a local Mini JCW; and a BMW M235i. Our start number is 196; and HH will be in the traditional RPR black and gold livery.
