Ice Drive Sweden

Carpe Diem Racing drivers sharpened their car handling skills during a long weekend in Sweden.

Meyrick Cox has organised this annual trip to http://www.icedrivesweden.com/ for more than 15 years, and this time his racing partners in CDR were also invited. Around 16 people in total were part of Meyrick's group from Friday to Monday. Not only did Meyrick organise the ice driving, but he also made all the pre-trip coordination with transport and accommodation for the group with members coming from UK, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and Hong Kong! As if that wasn't enough, Meyrick also ran the self-catering kitchen making sure the English breakfast was up to standard as well as cooking the evening dinner for everybody.

Unfortunately, the ice conditions on the lake were not good, so most of the driving was done on the nearby air strip and deserted access roads. Brilliant fun, especially in the rear wheel drive cars, and after a while most partcipants also managed to control beautiful oversteer slides on the front wheel drive cars - ace!
